The Galápagos Islands can be visited all year round. There are two main seasons: a cooler, drier season and a warmer, wetter season. Which season suits you best depends on what you want to see and do.

Dry season (June–November): This is the cooler time of year in the Galápagos. It is often drier, but the sea can be a little rougher and cooler. This is a good time for walking and observing wildlife on land. Many seabirds are also active. Snorkelling is still possible, but a wetsuit is often recommended due to the cooler water.

Wet season (December–May): During this period, the weather is warmer and there is occasional rain. The sea is usually calmer and the water warmer, making this a great time for snorkelling and diving. Various animals are also active during the breeding season in these months. This can therefore be an interesting time for wildlife enthusiasts.
