Avila Travel was born from the love of Tim & Hilda who had their first date atop Mount Avila in Venezuela. After moving to the Netherlands, the idea of Avila Travel was written on a beer mat and the rest is history. From the two of them working in an attic room, the company soon grew to include several employees and larger offices. With its own local agencies in Latin America, called Avila Experience, and a branch in Antwerp, the Avila family has now expanded beyond the borders.
Tim and Hilda started at home with two laptops. Now Avila Reizen leads a team of 26 specialists from a beautiful office in Haarlem, with additional offices in Belgium and Latin America. The offering grew from Latin America expertise to become the specialist in special tailor-made trips worldwide. With an emphasis on positive impact, personal service and a unique experience. Winning the awards for best long-haul travel specialist in 2023, 2024 & 2025 and the sustainability award in 2024 & 2025 from TRAVel Media's Travel Gala are icing on the cake.
