That is why we are part of the ANVR initiative ‘Samen Steeds Reisbewuster’ (Together, Ever More Travel-Conscious), with the aim of making a positive impact.

Toerisme creëert werkgelegenheid en kan een belangrijke rol spelen in het behoud van natuur, tradities en cultureel erfgoed. Tegelijkertijd realiseren wij ons dat reizen impact heeft. Vervoer, verblijf en activiteiten op de bestemming beïnvloeden het klimaat, de natuur en de lokale gemeenschap.
Met bewustere keuzes kunnen we bijdragen aan het welzijn van mens, natuur en bestemming. Samen met onze lokale partners zoeken we voortdurend naar manieren om reizen respectvoller en toekomstbestendiger te maken. Zo blijft de wereld niet alleen bijzonder om te ontdekken, maar ook om te behouden voor toekomstige generaties.
Met onze eigen stichting, de Avila Foundation, zijn wij mede-eigenaar van ‘Casa Blanca’ en ‘Casa Grande’; twee centra in de Sucre-provincie in Venezuela, waar kansarme kinderen en tieners dagelijks een warme maaltijd wordt aangeboden en waar een veilige plek is om te spelen, te leren en te dromen. Tevens steunen wij verschillende kleinschalige projecten, zoals bosprojecten in Botswana en Colombia, en hebben we de afgelopen jaren donaties gedaan aan onder andere het Wereld Natuurfonds, de Jimmy Nelson Foundation en aan de Sol y Luna Stichting in Peru.
Vanaf 30 april 2021 zijn wij trots Travelife Partner. Travelife is een internationaal toonaangevend management- en certificeringprogramma voor reisorganisaties en accommodaties die duurzaam willen ondernemen. Het programma is gericht op het verbeteren van de milieu-, sociale en economische impact van toerisme. Met onze Travelife Partner-status voldoen we aan meer dan 100 criteria, met betrekking tot het kantoorbeheer, het productaanbod, internationale zakenpartners en klantinformatie.
The Travelife standard covers ISO 26000 corporate social responsibility themes, including environment, biodiversity, human rights and labour relations.
