1. Do I need a visa for Oman?
For travellers from the Netherlands, no visa is required when staying in Oman for less than 14 days. If you are travelling for more than 14 days, however, a visa is required to enter Oman. Fortunately, the visa process is simple these days and can often be applied for online via an e-visa. Always check the latest entry requirements for your nationality before leaving.

3. Is Ramadan held in Oman?
Yes, Ramadan is held in Oman. Muslims fast during this period from sunrise to sunset, pray more often and give alms. Ramadan falls in a different period every year. Life during this period is a bit slower than normal. Outside the accommodations, there is often little food/drink available and at some attractions, stricter rules are imposed from the government. Our travel specialist will be happy to inform you further about this.
4. Are there certain dress codes in Oman?
Modest clothing is appreciated in Oman: cover shoulders and knees in public areas. Beach wear only on beaches or near swimming pools. When visiting religious sites, there are compulsory dress codes for both men and women. For instance, long trousers/dresses must be worn with ankles covered and shoulders must also be covered at all times. Shoes should often be taken off before entering and women must cover their heads. When swimming in the wadis, a t-shirt/shorts for women is highly appreciated instead of wearing a bikini.
