Destinations

Grand Est

Located in the north-east of France, the Grand Est region (formerly known as Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine), offers an enticing mix of cultural influences, an incredible culinary scene and a rich history, all in the beautiful setting of mountains, forests and lakes. Explore three nature reserves in Lorraine-Vosges, choose from seven ski resorts, see award-winning displays of flowers and gardens in Metz, see more than 40,000 cranes arrive in Bocage Champenois and kayak along the Rhine, Moselle, Meurthe and Meuse rivers. Explore numerous ancient and recent battlefields and enjoy the splendour of spectacular and historically significant cathedrals and stagger through UNESCO World Heritage sites. Several cities are home to beautiful thermal baths, while others are known as gourmand royalty. Enjoy a celebratory toast in Champagne and go wine tasting in the surrounding vineyards.

France

France has been one of Europe's best-visited destinations for years, and for good reason, of course. There is an incredible amount to experience in La Belle France. You will find many extraordinary cities, such as Paris. The country's capital is a destination in itself, as there are many historical sights to see. Think for example of the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, Montmartre and the Louvre. You will also find many special regions in France, where you can fully enjoy locally produced wines, champagnes and dishes. In the famous Bourgogne, you will find many wineries and excellent restaurants, which take the farm-to-table principle to the next level. France is also undoubtedly a real sunshine destination. In the south, the country borders the Mediterranean Sea. You will therefore find many beautiful beaches to enjoy. Travellers know where to find France not only during the summer months, but also during the winter. Especially in the French Alps, you will find many excellent ski resorts, where you can brave beautiful slopes while enjoying the luxury of private chalets. France is therefore an unmissable destination for any travel lover!

Champagne Wine Region

First created by the ancient Romans, Champagne today is synonymous with the decadent bubbly drink that bears its name. Champagne tasting in the famous Epernay area tops the itinerary for most visitors, but there are many other great ways to spend the hours in this picturesque region. Visit the quaint stone villages scattered throughout the region; wander the old streets of Reims past beautiful historic architecture; admire the impressive fortress of Sedan; or feast on exquisite French cuisine in exceptional restaurants.

French Riviera

The French Riviera is synonymous with affluence, style and sophistication - exclusive coastal destinations such as Cannes, Monaco and St-Tropez have long attracted the rich and famous to their glittering shores. With its old-world charm, modern decadence and stunning Angel Bay location, Nice is one of the Cote d'Azur's most irresistible destinations. Wander the elegant seaside boulevards past magnificent architecture from the turn of the last century; take a stroll along the Promenade des Anglais overlooking bays and beaches, or admire the amazing array of fresh produce at the city's vibrant fruit and flower market. One of the most picturesque towns is Èze, with its medieval stone houses and winding streets on a rugged 420-metre-high peak against a cobalt-Mediterranean backdrop, while the quaint medieval village of Grasse is famous for its exquisite perfumes and fragrant lavender fields.

Provence

France's south-eastern region of Provence, bordered by Italy and the Mediterranean, has an abundance of culinary delights, beautiful markets, vast vineyards and lavender-scented landscapes. It is home to the bustle of Marseille, the sexy sophistication of Nice and the ancient architecture of Nimes. The city of Aix en Provence exudes old-fashioned elegance through its stately colonial mansions and gothic cathedral, and history buffs will delight among Avignon's ancient palaces and beautifully preserved old town. Visit the birthplace of infamous artist Paul Cezanne, explore the Southern Alps, discover the plains of the Camargue and enjoy the vibrant nightlife along the trendy Cours Mirabeau Avenue. Don't miss a visit to the Cote d'Azur along the south coast with its glitzy seaside resorts and picturesque coastline.

Luberon

A beguiling region of rugged mountains, medieval towns, sprawling vineyards, and proud Provencal culture, Luberon is a discerning traveller's delight located in Southern France's Provence area. Favourite destinations include Gordes, for spectacular views of the Luberon's limestone peaks, and La Ilse de la Sorgue, with its vibrant weekend market. Five of the Luberon villages are listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Make sure to visit Les Baux, a charming village with fairy-tale-like stone castles; and Roussillon, with its dramatic cliffs radiating shades of yellow, pink, red and purple. The sensational cedar forest just south of Bonnieux is a popular spot among hikers and mountain bikers. The wood also boasts a new trail that's wheelchair accessible and a wonderful winding drive.

Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez, once a sleepy fishing village, but nowadays a hip and glamorous destination, has maintained its status to this day as a summer hotspot for celebrities, models, business tycoons who own yachts and other high-flyers, who come en masse to enjoy the sea, the sun and the vibrant nightlife. In the off-season, it is easier to imagine the village as it once was, spending hours exploring its quaint cobbled streets and open-air markets, or dining in one of the pavement cafés overlooking the harbour, where fishing boats and luxury sailboats lie side by side.

Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur

Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, one of the most popular holiday regions in France, stretches from the sea to the Alps and borders Italy to the east and the Rhône River to the west. Fields of lavender, glitzy seaside resorts and marinas along the beautiful coastline, ancient cities and excellent wine and perfume production are just some of the attractions of this enticing region. Watch bulls, horses and pink flamingos in the Camargue, enjoy the splendour of the impressive Verdon Canyon and go fruit-picking in the French Riviera; or explore the region's numerous natural parks and ski routes. Immerse yourself in the country's heritage in cities such as Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Arles, which (along with other parts of the country) inspired Vincent Van Gogh. Head to Cannes and Marseille for a dose of contemporary art and culture.

Champillon

Champillon is a commune in the Marne department in north-eastern France. This charming village is conveniently located just 120 kilometres from Paris, in the Champagne-Ardenne region (now part of the Grand-Est region), making it an ideal destination for a day trip from the capital. Visitors can look forward to exploring the forests, vineyards and villages of the nearby Reims Mountain Regional Nature Park, as well as the beautiful town of Epernay, which is just 5 kilometres away. Epernay is best known as a mecca for champagne lovers, who flock to the city's numerous internationally renowned champagne houses, which are open to the public. The historic city of Reims is also near Champillon and boasts a number of tourist attractions, including a historic palace, a cathedral and an abbey, all three of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
