Founded in 1885, Banff National Park is the oldest national park in Canada. Located amid the Unesco-listed prized Rocky Mountains, this breathtaking national park is home to rugged mountain terrain, hot springs, raging rivers, ancient glaciers, ice fields and dense alpine forest. It is known for abundant wildlife, turquoise glacial lakes and a wide variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, skiing, mountain biking, camping, climbing, etc. Other highlights include the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, and the Banff Park Museum National Historic Site, featuring more than 5,000 zoological and botanical specimens. Visitors here can take in one of the world's most beautiful mountain landscapes, learn about the park's cultural heritage and spot a variety of wildlife.

Lake Louise
The village of Lake Louise is located in Alberta in Canada, within the extraordinary Banff National Park and the Rocky Mountains. The lake is famous for its turquoise colour, Victoria Glacier, immense mountains and numerous ski resorts. Visitors can hike to the teahouse at Lake Agnes for fantastic panoramic views, rent a canoe, or go ice skating in winter. Other highlights include the Lake Louise gondola, a cable car to Whitehorn Mountain, where there is a better chance of spotting grizzly bears.

Wells Gray Provincial Park
Wells Gray Provincial Park is a vast nature reserve in the province of British Columbia in southwestern Canada. Easiest to reach from the city of Clearwater, Wells Gray is the first of three provincial parks stretching along the scenic Caribou Mountains. The highlight of the park is undoubtedly Helmcken Falls, an amazing 140-metre-long waterfall that cascades down a forested cliff. For hikers and climbers, there are trails leading to other spectacular gorges and waterfalls (such as Third Canyon and Spahats Falls), while Trophy Mountain offers nine peaks accessible via flowering meadows and forested trails. Wells Gray Provincial Park also boasts numerous lakes for excellent boating and canoeing, with a beautiful beach and camping area at Mahood Lake.

Banff
Located high in the Canadian Rockies, Banff is a town where you will quickly feel at home but at the same time continue to marvel. There is no other place in the world where a vibrant community of artists, athletes, families, restaurateurs and hoteliers can be found in a huge national park. Banff National Park consists of valleys, mountains, glaciers, forests, meadows and rivers. The grandeur and splendour of nature make Banff National Park one of the world's premier adventure destinations!

Kananaskis Country
Located at the foot of the beautiful Canadian Rockies, Kananaskis Country is known as an outdoor recreation mecca. The area offers many campsites, one of the best golf courses in the region, the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, and two excellent ski resorts. Visitors here can enjoy a whole range of adventure activities, including skiing at the outstanding Nakiska Ski Resort (which hosted the Winter Olympics in 1988), mountain biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, rafting, horseback riding, ice fishing, snowshoeing, camping and canoeing.
Alberta
The Canadian province of Alberta is best known for its stunning landscapes: pine-covered ridges, snow-capped mountain peaks and crystal clear lakes of the Rocky Mounatains. Some of Canada's most magnificent national parks can be found in Alberta, such as Jasper National Park - featuring Maligne Lake with its beautiful turquoise waters, a trio of glaciers and Spirit Island - and Banff National Park. Calgary, Alberta's largest city is known for the 'July Stampede', the world's best outdoor show featuring rodeo, a parade, funfair, concerts, shows, exhibitions and much more.

Canada
Canada, the land of loggers, beavers, hockey and maple syrup. While Canada certainly offers all these traditional associations in abundance, this beautiful country has so much more to offer than a few clichés. With its unforgettably beautiful, natural landscapes and cosmopolitan cities, Canada has something for everyone. Popular tourist destinations include the beautiful Rocky Mountains around Banff and Lake Louise, luxury ski resorts like Whistler and Blackcomb, the French-speaking cities of Montreal or Quebec, or the uber cool and eternally busy urban centres of Vancouver or Toronto. Whether you visit an Inuit lodge in Nunavut, take a dog sled ride through the Yukon to see the spectacular northern lights shining through the night sky or indulge in a delicious high tea on Vancouver Island, you will be amazed at the possibilities Canada has to offer.
Jasper
Jasper retains its timeless appeal as a peaceful former railway town that happens to be in the middle of one of the world's most beautiful protected wilderness areas. The town of Jasper is a year-round gateway for visitors to explore this pristine environment and world of adventure, whether you are paddling through crystal clear waters, exploring some of the more than 1,200 km of hiking trails or looking for wildlife.

Jasper National Park
Founded in 1907, Jasper National Park is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies. The most rugged of the mountain parks, Jasper contains an amazing backcountry trail system and the world-famous Columbia Icefields; one of the only icefields in the world that can be reached by road. Jasper is internationally known for nature walks, skiing at Marmot Basin and for wildlife spotting. It is home to North America's most extraordinary wildlife, including healthy populations of grizzly bears, moose, caribou and wolves.

British Columbia
Stretching along Canada's western border, British Columbia has it all: a strong legacy of the 'first nations', stunning scenery, rich wildlife and a strong, cosmopolitan capital. The province consists largely of untamed wilderness - rugged mountain peaks, lush forests, mountain lakes and sparkling rivers, making it an excellent destination for outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, surfing and rock climbing, hiking, cycling, skiing and golf.
Vancouver
Majestic mountains, sparkling ocean, rainforests and beautiful vegetation in all four seasons make Vancouver one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And a huge multicultural population, endless activities and excellent infrastructure ensure that Vancouver welcomes everyone. Vancouver caters to almost every interest year-round; you can enjoy world-class shopping, gourmet dining, outstanding live entertainment, sporting events, theatre, outdoor adventure, spectacular sights and attractions - it's all waiting for you in Vancouver.

Vancouver Island
Idyllically located just off Canada's Pacific coast in the province of British Columbia, the vast Vancouver Island offers stunning natural scenery with an abundance of adventure sports and a wealth of historical and cultural wonders. The rolling beaches and verdant forests of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve offer the ultimate opportunities for surfing and hiking, and the chance to see pumas and other endangered animals. Turquoise natural pools are surrounded by giant peaks and lush greenery. So there are some wonderful locations to swim, kayak and do other water sports. Small, friendly communities rich in cultural history are scattered around the island and love to tell visitors about old legends around the campfire. The capital Victoria is home to rich architecture and a variety of cultural museums. Visitors can also enjoy the many other modern highlights here.
Great Bear Rainforest
Great Bear Rainforest stretches across thousands of square kilometres of land and coast and forms much of the world's largest remaining coastal temperate rainforest. It is a natural wonderland of glacier-sculpted gorges, snow-capped mountains, ancient cedar forests and sparkling rivers teeming with salmon. Named after the bears that inhabit it, the park is the only place on earth where you can view the Kermode or 'spirit' bear - a subspecies of black bear of which roughly one in 10 is pure white. Other species that inhabit the park include grizzly bears, wolves, pumas and eagles, while whales, sea otters, dolphins and sea lions often swim along the coastal waters.

Desolation Sound
The stunning Desolation Sound is located on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast. Fjords dotted with islands and framed by cliffs, mountains and a gently lapping coastline offer water adventurers and nature lovers the time of their lives. Boating, kayaking, diving, snorkelling, fishing and wild camping are all possible in this pristine environment.

Whistler
Resting at the foot of the Whistler and Blackcomb peaks is the charming village of Whistler. This lively village is a great year-round destination. In winter, sports such as skiing, snowboarding and ice skating can be enjoyed. In summer, hiking can be done, but there are also many shops, restaurants and spas for visitors to enjoy themselves.

Tofino

Clearwater
Clearwater, located in the lush North Thompson River Valley, is the name of both the district and town in the Canadian province of British Columbia. This rugged and beautiful area offers majestic mountains, wild rivers, abundant wildlife and a rich cultural history. It is known as a mecca for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and serves as the gateway to the spectacular Wells Gray Provincial Park, which is undoubtedly the main attraction in this area. This popular park boasts over 5250 square kilometres of pristine wilderness, including deep gorges, ancient forests, serene lakes and abundant waterfalls. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities in the area including horseback riding, fishing, hiking, golfing, kayaking, rafting, wildlife viewing and skiing.
North Thompson Valley
The northern Thompson Valley is full of pristine wilderness. Go on a river safari or take a jeep tour in 'Grizzly Bear Alley' to spot the local bear population. Visit Wells Gray Provincial Park for a 6-kilometre waterfall tour, including the thundering 141-metre Helmcken Falls, or go skiing in the Monashee Mountains. For a more serene nature experience, camp along the shores of Lake Murtle and wake up for an early morning kayaking trip on the peaceful waters.
Parksville
Parksville, located on Vancouver Island, is a destination town with enough to keep the whole family busy. Best known for the sandy beaches of Parksville and Craig bays, it hosts an annual sandcastle building competition in summer - the Parksville Beachfest has been taking place since 1982 and is a qualifying event for the World Sand Sculpture Championships! Attractions in town include Craig Heritage Park and Rathtrevor Beach Community Park; or you can also enjoy bowling and miniature golf, and tours of the Pacific rainforest and estuaries. Nearby, you can browse around Coombs Rural Market, visit the World Parrot Refuge or explore Horne Lake Caves provincial park.
