Destinations
Kathmandu
Nepal's capital is set in a beautiful setting amid snow-capped mountain peaks with a very friendly population, a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and a host of ornate stone temples hundreds of years old. The city can easily be seen as a big open-air museum, as there are particularly many ancient temples, squares and royal palaces to admire. Some highlights include a visit to Durbar Square, the central square with magnificent 12th-century Hindu temples, Kumari Bahal (the house of the living goddess), and the sacred Buddhist Swayambhunath Stupa. You visit the latter at sunset, when the last rays of the sun set the white monument in a magical glow.

Dhulikhel
The town of Dulikhel is located in the far east of the Kathmandu Valley. It is one of the best places in the country to admire the splendour of these rugged peaks that offer phenomenal views of the surroundings. However, there is much more to enjoy here than just views. This is an authentic Nepali town where the culture and traditions of the local Newari people have remained strong. There is a charming old town with two beautiful temples in different Vishnu and Hari Siddhi styles, and a Kali temple on a hilltop above the town, from where there are stunning views of Dulikhel and the surrounding area.

Pokhara
Pokhara, Nepal’s second-largest city, lies on the shores of Lake Phewa in the central region of the country. It is often referred to as the ‘adventure and leisure capital of Nepal’ and is known as the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit. Pokhara is a popular hub with plenty to see and do. The range of activities on offer is almost overwhelming, with lakes and waterfalls to admire; yoga, reiki and meditation classes to attend; caves (such as Mahendra) to explore; boating, canoeing and white-water rafting on the waterways around the lake to enjoy; and a number of challenging hikes to test your fitness, with Sarangkot being particularly rewarding. Meanwhile, serious trekkers can access Annapurna Base Camp from Pokhara, the first stop on a number of impressive trails through the spectacular mountains.
As well as the stunning mountains, Pokhara is also home to Phewa Lake, the second-largest lake in Nepal and a popular destination. Here, you can hire a boat (with or without a rower) to explore the lake, and from the water you’ll have a magnificent view of the mountains. What’s more, it’s great fun to go for a walk or a cycle along Phewa Lake. The eastern shore, known as Lakeside or Baidam, is one of Pokhara’s most touristy neighbourhoods and the area with the most hotels, restaurants and (craft) shops. The Barahi Temple, the most important religious monument in Pokhara, is situated in the middle of Phewa Lake.

Nepal

Neulapur
Neulapur, located in Bardiya district in southwestern Nepal, is set amid bright green grass, agricultural fields and majestic mountain scenery. This wondrous and relaxing environment is the perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Travellers can visit the charming temples, taste the delicious local cuisine and admire the tranquillity of the flowing waters along the banks of the Babai River. Neulapur opens the gateway to the breathtaking scenery of the Dudhwa National Park; a vast area of lush terrain in the densely forested Terai belt. Visitors to this beautiful area can spot swamp deer, tigers, elephants and lush bird life, thanks to the abundance of wildlife.

Phaphlu
Phaphlu, a peaceful mountain town in northeastern Nepal, is a gateway to the remote Solukhumbu region, about 270 kilometres east of Nepal's capital Kathmandu. Nestled among an impressive array of towering snow-capped peaks, green valleys and enchanting landscapes, this quaint hill town also serves a practical purpose: it is one of the few domestic airports in the region and an excellent base to Pikey Peak, one of Nepal's best vantage points. Ideal for adventurers, the town offers a great starting point for various activities, such as trekking, horse riding and mountain biking past charming mountain villages.

Bardia National Park
Bardia National Park is a forest-clad hidden gem nestled in the western region of Nepal. Known for its vast expanses of untouched wilderness and diverse wildlife, this park offers an unparalleled experience for nature enthusiasts and adventure junkies alike. With over 968 square kilometres of pristine forest, grasslands, and riverine habitats, Bardia National Park is home to an array of endangered species, such as the Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, and the Gangetic dolphin. Visitors can embark on a thrilling jungle safari, bird watching, or even venture on a river rafting excursion down the Karnali River. The park also offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the culture of the Tharu people, an indigenous community that has called the park home for centuries. With its unparalleled natural beauty, Bardia National Park is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the best that Nepal has to offer.
