Oranjestad

Oranjestad is the capital of the beautiful island of Aruba, better known to locals as "Playa". Located on the west side of the island, this charming port town has a central area lined with palm trees and quaint, Dutch colonial architecture, including colourful gabled houses, historical monuments and attractive bell towers. Sights not to be missed include the impressive Fort Zoutman, Aruba's oldest building from 1798; the Willem III Tower, built in 1868; and the Historical Museum, which chronicles key events in Aruban history. Visitors can look forward to relaxing on the city's pristine white beaches, browsing the market for locally produced arts and crafts, and enjoying the vibrant nightlife, complete with an array of restaurants, cafés, clubs, lounges, bars and casinos.

Aruba

This beautiful island in the Netherlands Antilles is renowned for its unspoilt beaches lapped by crystal-clear waters and dotted with luxury resorts. The island’s landscape is characterised by rocky deserts, secluded bays and spectacular blue vistas. Visitors wishing to explore this unique and remarkably beautiful setting can head to Arikok National Park with its trademark twisted divi-divi trees, clusters of cacti and its intriguing, abandoned gold mines.
Standing in stark contrast to this untamed natural wilderness, the island’s capital, Oranjestad, is brimming with world-class hotels, restaurants and bars, as well as endless shops offering everything from local handicrafts to Delftware.
With its beautiful powder-sand beaches, cooling trade winds and fabulously friendly locals, it’s no wonder that so many visitors return to this extraordinary island year after year.
