Vulture spotting in Côa Valley

Early in the morning, you will head to a special hide, located in the Côa Valley Special Protected Area. An excellent area for spotting vultures. From the village of Algodres, you will be driven in a 4×4 vehicle. Bird species likely to be spotted throughout the year are: Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus), Black Vulture (Aegypius monachus) and Red Kite (Milvus milvus) to name a few. In spring and summer, you can also observe the vulture (Neophron percnopterus) and black kite (Milvus migrans).
