Seldovia Wildlife Tour
Today, join us on a 7-hour tour to the community of Seldovia. The first stop of the tour is at the Gull Island seabird nesting area, home to 15,000 seabirds. This island is home to eight pelagic seabird species that come there every year to nest. Bald eagles and other bird species are also often seen during the summer months. Truly a paradise for birdwatchers!
You will then continue to the Eldred Passage where many sea otters, bald eagles and ducks can be seen. Throughout this tour, the sights and sounds of Kachemak Bay surround you. Your captain and crew will constantly tell you about the history, geography and wildlife biology of Kachemak Bay. The trained and educated crew will be there to provide information and do their best to satisfy your questions and curiosity.
From the passage then head to the community of Seldovia. Sightings of humpback whales and orcas are possible, but this depends on the presence of their food source. When you arrive in Seldovia, you will have time to explore this beautiful and picturesque Alaskan community. You will find restaurants and cafes for lunch, hiking trails for walking, walkways for hiking and shops. You can even catch a salmon from the slough.
Your day on the water can range from hot and sunny to very wet and cold. There is plenty of room on all our vessels to carry extra equipment and you can leave everything on board while you explore Seldovia.
