Crossbasket Castle
Crossbasket Castle is steeped in history and has many unique historic features that have been restored to their original beauty with traditional craftsmen and materials. The Stewart Drawing Room is a perfect example of the quality of restoration with uniquely detailed cornices finished in gold leaf to ensure these features convey grandeur.
Crossbasket features nine breathtaking en-suite rooms, each decorated in a classic style. Each bedroom is individually designed with the perfect balance of traditional character and modern finishes.
Crossbasket's four-storey wedding tower dates back to the 16th century as part of the previous Mains Castle. The fairytale tower room, built on a hill overlooking the River Calder, is served by a grand stone spiral staircase and is the ultimate bridal suite.
Dine in sumptuous surroundings at the latest contemporary gourmet restaurant. Overseen by legendary French chef Albert Roux and son Michel Roux Jr, the castle grounds include a large stretch of forest, extensive nature walks and a beautiful stretch of river with majestic waterfalls. Its convenient location means there is plenty to do and see in the area, including golfing, fishing and hiking.
