Avila Experience - 2-day kayak tour to Mamangua, Paraty

This tour is recommended to flexible travellers who are fit and adventurous.

From Paraty, a car will take you to a small bay Paraty Mirim where Canadian kayaks will be waiting for you. Before departure, you will receive a detailed explanation on how to use the kayaks and you will be given a waterproof bag to take with you in the kayak to keep your small belongings dry. The remaining luggage will be ferried to the pousada by boat. For the rest of the day, you will pass small beaches by kayak and stop for lunch.

The final destination of the first day is the Saco do Mamangua. A beautiful secluded bay on an amazing range of hills nicknamed 'the Brazilian fjords'. Your accommodation is small and simple as there are not many options in the area, but the rooms are clean and have private bathrooms. There is no air conditioning or minibar. However, there is a fan and electricity until 23:00.

The next day, after breakfast, paddle to the other side of the bay to a small beach where you will hike to the highest peak of Mamangua Bay. This hike takes about 1 hour with the great reward being great views of Mamanhua Bay, Paraty Bay, Ilha grande and some other islets of Angra dos Reis.

Once you return from the walk, lunch awaits you at a small, local beach restaurant. After lunch, you will have some free time before boarding the kayak back to Paraty Mirim where the driver is already waiting to take you back to Paraty.
